This May, Stand Up at the Subway brings a brand-new comedy festival to the iconic Crystal Palace Subway. Across four nights, you can experience eleven live shows in one of London’s most unusual and atmospheric venues, hidden beneath Crystal Palace Park.

Join us for a brilliant mix of award-winning comedians, cult favourites and rising stars, with a line-up featuring names like Daniel Kitson, Elis James, Kerry Godliman, Shoot from the Hip and more.

The festival is all about experiencing live comedy up close in a truly unforgettable setting. With a licensed bar on site and an intimate, fully seated space, it’s the perfect way to spend an evening in south London. Whether you’re discovering new talent or catching some of your favourite acts, Stand Up at the Subway is a celebration of the very best in UK comedy, right here in Crystal Palace Park.

About the venue

Discover the Crystal Palace Subway – a hidden piece of London history. Built in 1865 to connect rail passengers to the Crystal Palace, it is one of the few surviving structures after the ill-fated Palace burnt down in 1936.

From an air raid shelter during WW2 to a local hangout, and even a 1990s Chemical Brothers video set, it’s now a truly unique venue.

A fully licensed bar will be available with a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Who the shows are suitable for

The shows are intended for audiences aged 16 and over due to adult themes and language.

How to get here

The entrance to the Subway can be found just within the park's boundaries, part way along the A212/ Crystal Palace Parade, in close proximity to Crystal Palace Bus Station.

Please note there is currently no step-free access to the Subway and access is via two flights of stairs with handrails on either side.‍
