The Crystal Palace Bowl is within Joseph Paxton’s English Garden area of the park and is the site of the iconic Concert Platform, or “Rusty Laptop”. Following the Trust’s community fundraising campaign, the much-loved Platform is back in action and we are keen to hear from groups, organisations, businesses, charities, and individuals who would like to use these spaces.

The Subway is a beautifully designed and crafted relic of Victorian construction, built to provide access to the Crystal Palace for first-class rail passengers. It will shortly be reopened for the first time in many years, following completion of a major restoration project.

The National Sports Centre (NSC) is a Better leisure centre and outdoor athletics stadium with activities for everyone at affordable prices, as well as free parking.

The park’s Maze is one of the largest in the country, with a diameter of 49 metres. It has been bewildering and entertaining visitors since the 1870s.

The Fishing Lake is managed by Crystal Palace Angling Association. Please note that you need to hold a valid EA Rod Licence and a ticket before fishing.

This charming city farm is home to a wide range of animals. A great day out for children and the young at heart, who get the opportunity to meet and greet the animals as well as learn about the running of a working farm.

The Information Centre hosts informative displays and a colouring table for children as well as lots of leaflets and information to help and inspire you on your trips to Crystal Palace Park.

The Dinosaurs are one of the park’s most famous attractions, unveiled in 1854 and continuing to delight children and adults over 150 years later. They are amongst approximately 30 statues, including amphibians, reptiles and mammals, located on islands within the lakes at the Penge side of the park. They are free to visit.

Crystal Palace Museum tells the story of both the Hyde Park and Sydenham Crystal Palaces in a series of unique images, large scaled models of the Crystal Palace and showcases displaying ceramics and other items.

The new 1,100 square metre (11,840 square feet) skatepark at Crystal Palace Park sees skateboarding return to one of its historic homes, where the first major UK national skateboarding competition took place in 1977, and is located right next to the site of the world famous skateboarding half-pipe of the 1980s.

Hire a pedalo or a row boat in the warmer months and have fun exploring the lake besides the dinosaurs.

The Terraces, spanning the high ridge of Crystal Palace Park, were designed by Sir Joseph Paxton and are Grade II listed. The upper terrace was the site of the Palace, with steps descending to the Italian Terraces and their sculptures, some of which remain in place.

The Gorilla sculpture by David Wynne is a Grade II-listed treasure. It depicts London Zoo’s Guy the Gorilla, who lived there from 1947–78 and was one of the its major attractions. He became the park’s own attraction in 1962.

The Concert Café offers coffee, tea, cakes and biscuits beside the park’s Concert Platform.
