What’s involved?

There are many different ways to get involved and help make the park an even better place.

You could be supporting the smooth running of our free programme of events and activities for neighbouring communities, welcoming visitors and providing information to help them enjoy their trip, keeping the park clean, tidy and beautiful through our gardening programme, or working on more 'behind the scenes' but vital tasks such as research.

Some volunteer roles require a regular commitment for a period of time. Others will be bite-sized where you can turn up for a one-off activity.

You’ll be joining a friendly, supportive, and enthusiastic community while meeting people of all ages and backgrounds.

We value the diverse knowledge and interests that our volunteers bring, and we want to make sure your time suits your needs and interests.

What can we offer you?

• Varied opportunities with the chance to build new skills and relationships in your local community.
• Training and support from a dedicated Volunteer Officer.
• Out of pocket expenses for travel up to a maximum of £16.60 (the cost of a zone 1-6 travelcard).

How do I get involved?

When we have volunteer opportunities, we will share them here and via our monthly e-newsletter, The Transmitter.

You'll be able to read a role description to help you understand what is involved and and there will be detailed application instructions if needed (some roles are simply 'turn up on the day'!).

Community Events Volunteers

This role provides valuable support for our free community programmes in Crystal Palace Park. Opportunities are varied, from helping support our Subway open days to welcoming visitors to our Sunday Sounds sessions at the Concert Platform!

Community events volunteering will involve providing excellent customer care to visitors by offering a warm welcome and ensuring that the events and activities are engaging. These opportunities can be flexible, or you can join us for regular support at our community events.

This role is available to people aged 18 or over. You don’t need to have existing events skills or experience; we’re looking for enthusiasm and people who want to join our friendly team.

Do I need skills or experience?

• No! Just enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and be a team player
• Our roles are available to people aged 18 and over and we welcome people from all backgrounds to our community.
• Some of our roles (for example roles in our events and learning activities) will require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and we may need to ask you about any unspent convictions as part of our duty of care. If you would like to speak to us beforehand about any unspent convictions we will be happy to discuss this with you.
