Summer of Play returns for 2026 with another fun-filled season of creative, engaging, and playful free events for children and young people of all ages throughout the school holidays, taking place 18 July – 29 August across the park.
The Summer of Play programme is made possible thanks to a grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, with thanks to National Lottery players.
How to book
Summer of Play activities are always FREE to attend. Some activities are drop-in, while others require a free ticket booked in advance. We ask grown-ups to stay with their children throughout.
Tickets are released in stages so more children and young people can take part.
For some activities, additional tickets may be released at a later date, so if a session is currently full, please check back and keep an eye on our social media channels for updates.
Sessions have limited capacity and can be very popular; if you can no longer attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can look to reallocate the space.
Activities programmed to be age appropriate
Summer of Play is designed to be inclusive for children and young people of all ages. Some activities include age recommendations to help ensure participants get the most from each session. Please check the event information before booking to find the sessions that are the best fit for you and your child(ren).
